All abstracts must be in English only and should contain no more than 300 words that illustrate original researches, or experiences from the field on the subjects which have never been presented at any international conference.
APACT2020 will NOT accept any abstracts/works that are funded by tobacco industry both directly and indirectly.
APACT2020 “Professional Alliance Moving Together for Tobacco-Free Society” will be exploring four diverse tracks. Submitted abstracts should be aligned with the tracks and sub-tracks, as presented below:
A limited number of meritorious abstracts will be accepted for oral presentations. The presentations will occur during the first 10 minutes of scheduled oral sessions. They are limited to 7 minutes for presentation followed by 3 minutes for questions-and-answers. Accepted oral presentations will be eligible for awards (see below).
APACT2020 will be utilizing both regular posters and ePosters. An ePoster is an electronic poster displayed digitally instead of printed on paper or traditional poster. Poster presenters are required to submit an electronic version of the poster prior to the meeting. Attendees will be able to view the electronic posters online before, during, and after the meeting. Kiosks (on-site computer terminals) will be available in the poster room for viewing of the electronic presentations. Additional information will be provided upon acceptance of your abstract.
Changes & corrections
Once the abstract is submitted, it is NOT possible to make any corrections to the abstract content or information (such as authors list and details, topic, conclusion(s) etc...). The APACT2020 is not authorized to make changes to any submission. In order to correct your abstract, the author must withdraw it and submit a new corrected version prior to the deadline (See below for withdrawal procedure). Note that, such replacement of your abstract is NOT possible after the deadline. In case of errors in your abstract discovered after the deadline, the author may indicate the correction during the presentation at the congress. However, changes will not be included in the publications. If accepted, the abstract will be published as submitted.
If authors want to withdraw any abstract already submitted, please notify the APACT2020 as soon as possible at email@example.com
Note that, withdrawals are still accepted after the submission deadline. All abstract withdrawal requests must be received in writing (via e-mail only) by March 2020 to avoid printed publications.
Partial funding support for registration fee for presenters, whose abstract is accepted, is available in limited number based on APACT2020 criteria. Priority for funding will be given to authors whose abstracts have been selected for oral presentation, especially those from developing countries. Authors who receive our sponsorship are required to stay for the entire period of the 13th APACT main conference, which is 2-4 September 2020. Application for partial scholarship will be opened in early February 2020.
Maximum 300 characters typed in lower-case letters, except for abbreviations and study names. Do not include authors, institutions, city names, trademarks and abbreviations in the title.
At the time of abstract submission, the author must select one single track & subtrack to index the abstract. It is important to carefully select the best matching subtracks as these choices will determine under which area the abstract will be reviewed and graded.
Note that all authors are subjected to make a “Conflict of Interest Statement”. Any abstracts/works that are funded or involved by tobacco industry both directly and indirectly will NOT be accepted.
You may enter up to 10 authors in the authors list including the Presenter.
Please note that the first author should be the abstract Presenter by default, unless you indicate otherwise in the system upon abstract submission. However, in all cases, the presenter must be part of the authors list in the submitted abstract.
The names of authors will be published as listed on the submission form. No changes will be possible after the abstract is submitted (see paragraph on changes and corrections above).
The authors’ order and details (names, cities, country codes) will be published as entered by the submitter.
The submitter certifies and warranties to the APACT2020 that he/she has permission from all persons he/she enters as co-authors to be listed in this abstract and that they are aware that their names will appear in all APACT2020 publications.
If none of the authors are able to present the abstract during the conference, the abstract should be withdrawn. The submitters are required to inform the APACT2020 as soon as possible through e-mail.
If the abstract presenter needs to be substituted by another person in the author list, the submitter is required to inform APACT2020 through the e-mail before the conference begins.
Each author will be requested to select the institutions that he/she works for during the abstract submission.
Structure of Abstracts
All abstracts must be submitted in English.
Please structure your abstract using the following headings:
All sources of financial support (including governmental grants) for this research should be listed. All grant funding agency abbreviations should be spelled out. This information will be published.
All abstracts will be blinded for review by members of the Abstract Review Committee (reviewers). Each reviewer is selected by the Scientific Committee to review abstracts in their tracks that best fits their expertise.
Reviewers are required to identify abstracts pertaining to commercial promotion of a proprietary product, to notify the selection committee.
All abstract submitters will be notified by e-mail by 31 March 2020 about the outcome (accepted or not accepted). Please ensure that the e-mail provided is accurate as all correspondences will be sent via email.
